MCC visits RREAL!

Members of the Minnesota Conservation Corps (MCC) arrived on the Hunt Utilities Group (HUG) campus to work with the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance (RREAL) and Happy Dancing Turtle on September 29, 2008. While at RREAL, the MCC crews participated in several important projects. Three individuals assisted Heather in building new collectors in the shop, while others set up sun-soaking racks in order to further prepare collectors for installation and sale. The groups also reorganized our storage space and helped with other general grounds keeping tasks. Representatives Larry Howes and John Ward visited with the MCC crews and witnessed firsthand their hard work on the HUG campus. RREAL would like to thank all the MCC volunteers for their time and efforts!

The MCC was created by the Minnesota Legislature in 1981. The organization was designed for two primary purposes: to engage youths and young adults in enhancing natural resources and to provide them hands-on environmental stewardship and service-learning opportunities while accomplishing priority cost-effective conservation, natural resource management projects and emergency response work.
