We have installed 1.5 megawatts of solar energy at Pine River-Backus, Pequot Lakes, and Central Lakes College, saving the school districts thousands of dollars for years to come, while also reducing their carbon production.

The ground beneath the Solar for Schools arrays was also seeded with native prairie vegetation to attract monarch butterflies and beneficial insect pollinators with the support of The Sand County Foundation with funds from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation.

We are now working to create STEAM-based curriculum opportunities with the help of teachers, students, and other organizations to use these arrays as a way to educate, inspire, and empower the next generation with solar technology. We are still raising money to develop this curriculum and would love your support!

RREAL is doing its part to develop an inclusive solar workforce,  raise awareness about the value of solar, and pioneer clean and lasting solutions.

Below is an excerpt  from "A Sunny Future" by IQ magazine:

"'We are quite interested in the workforce development aspect of the Leech Lake solar project,' [RREAL Director Jason Edens] said. “It is more than an ancillary benefit.”

In fact, Edens says the clean energy workforce needs to become much more inclusive. “So it’s been a real pleasure to provide the graduates of the Leech Lake College program with meaningful opportunities.”
