Community Solar for Community Action

Building Community Resilience and helping our neighbors

RREAL was one of the pioneers of Community Solar gardens.  Rather than a for-profit enterprise, RREAL was focused on having the solar garden produce income that can be distributed to address energy burden.  Our Community Solar for Community Action program was deployed in partnership with the White Earth Nation and Leech Lake Band as well as in Vermont.

Today, with storms and wildfires happening more frequently and more intensly, Community Resilience is becoming an important aspect of the rural dialogue. RREAL is looking to evolve our Community Solar for Community Action program toward a Community-owned model where Solar+Battery solutions can provide resilence for key infrastructure, reduce energy costs, and fund community needs that support their lower income residents.

This model is being evaluated and RREAL is interested in connecting with community leaders interested in the concept.
